Sixty-eight students from Bates College's spring sports teams have received All-Academic honors from the New England Small College Athletic Conference. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 (raised from 3.40 a year ago).

College Hill Singers: Spring Break Tour
The College Hill Singers, under Visiting Assistant Professor of Music and Interim Director of Choral Activities Danan Tsan, performed in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Charleston, and Tampa during the annual spring break tour. The 24-member group performed music from the western canon and around the world including Cum Sancto Spiritu by Hyo-Won Woo (Korea), Norwegian Alleluia by Kim Andre Arneson (Norway), Sleepsong by Rolf Lovland and arranged by Desmond Earley (Ireland), Daemon Irrepit Callidus by Gyorgy Orban (Hungary), and Earth Blessing by J David Moore (American Indian), among others.

Students Receive Innovation Fund Grants from the Jewett Center for Community Partnerships
This spring, nine student ventures received grants of up to $750 for spring or summer projects from the Jewett Center for Community Partnerships (JCCP) Student Innovation Fund. These student efforts are representative of the JCCP's commitment to cocreate mutually respectful partnerships in pursuit of a just, equitable, and sustainable future for communities beyond the campus-nearby and around the world.
